The Marquette NFP™ Pro app currently supports regular cycles only.
A “regular cycle” as defined by Marquette NFP™ is one that falls within this 21–42 day range. Postpartum or breastfeeding individuals need three complete cycles with lengths in this range to be considered regular. This definition is based on research done by the Boland Institute for Natural Family Planning.
So, what does that mean? To use the app, your cycle must meet ALL of the following criteria:
Cycle length: 21–42 days
Not currently pregnant
Postpartum: If you’ve recently been pregnant, you must have charted at least 3 full cycles after giving birth (including if breastfeeding)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This DOES NOT mean you cannot use the Marquette Method with irregular cycles— the Marquette Method itself is a great option for women with irregular cycles as well as those who are postpartum and/or breastfeeding! It just means that right now, the app may not calculate your fertile window accurately.
We are working hard to develop app support for charting for these cycles. In the meantime, we highly recommend reaching out to a certified Marquette instructor, they will be able to work with you to chart your cycle.
