Our team is made up of an incredible group of individuals - each one playing a crucial role in the design and development of the app. Each person has found their way onto the team because they had a desire to make this app happen. Read below to learn more about each of them!
Mary
Schneider
PhD, FNP, MMCP
Director Marquette Boland Institute for NFP
Dr. Mary Schneider has been with the Institute for NFP since 1998 when it started. Over the years she has taught thousands of couples in-person and online.
She is passionate about this project because it is going to improve accessibility for couples,and data collection for scientific research as well as provide a well designed, secure platform for couples to work directly with a Marquette NFP Instructor
Susana
Crespo
BSN, RN, Certified MM Instructor
Susana is a wife, mother of 3 living children, and professional nurse for 27 years. She started her NFP journey in 1997, the same year she received her bachelor’s degree in science of nursing from Marquette University. She has worked with the Institute for Natural Family Planning since its inception. Her passion includes working with Bilingual couples, where Spanish is their primary language, as well as English speaking couples.
Her desire to spread the word of living with one’s fertility has been her drive and call. Her desire to assist with the success of this project has been by sharing from the perspective of an instructor. She is excited to have an app that would help to expand and reach more people globally.
Tony
Schneider
Lead Software Engineer
Tony is a husband, father of two daughters, and Navy veteran (2008–2017). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and has seven years of enterprise experience in reliability engineering.
His involvement began when his mother, Dr. Schneider, asked for help with a website rebuild. That revealed a larger need for strong leadership to align the development team with an emphasis on building reliable software. With a renewed focus on developing a mobile application, Tony now leads the engineering team. For him, this is about more than building secure software; it’s about using his skills to serve families and honor God’s design for marriage and life.
Matthew
Willey
Software Engineer
Matthew lives in north Alabama with his wife and son. He holds a bachelor's of science in analytics from Saint Louis University, a master's of science in data science from The University of Missouri, a graduate certificate in statistics from Penn State University, and has 10 years experience working within various data domains in the aerospace industry.
He first became involved with the Marquette NFP Pro project when he built his own app for his wife (then fiancé) and Marquette Method instructor while he was engaged, which led to the opportunity to join the project. He is passionate about bringing a modern and fully Catholic application to this market, and, as a statistician, is excited to build a platform that will enable future research with high quality datasets.
Nathan
Hoehne
Software Engineer
Nathan and his wife, Anna, live in Manitoba, Canada. He became Catholic in 2021 after encountering the Beauty and Truth of the Church. He and his wife learned the Marquette Method during marriage prep, and were drawn to its clarity and simplicity.
As a Computer Science undergrad at University of Manitoba, Nathan expressed interest in building an app for the method to his instructor, Coleen Morse. Coleen connected him with Dr. Mary Schneider and he has been dedicated to the project ever since.
Samantha
King
Design & Marketing
Samantha is a wife and mother of 2. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design and media communication with a minor in psychology. She learned the Marquette Method in 2020 while in design school. It wasn't long before she got tired of charting on paper and began designing an app prototype.

Sam reached out to Dr. Schneider about bringing the prototype to life and learned that the team was already working on one and needed a designer, she has been on the project since! Sam is thrilled to be making the Marquette Method more accessible for young couples leading busy lives and pursuing a healthy, holy alternative to mainstream ideas.
