For the Instructors Behind Every Chart

Marquette NFP™ has always been rooted in its instructor community. All of the research, all of the algorithms are built on instructors with a medical background working closely with the couple. More than that, Marquette NFP™ relies on instructors who are walking with couples through all of it. From newly engaged couples to postpartum to perimenopause. Couples with hyper-fertilty, infertility, textbook regular cycles, or even difficult diagnoses. Marquette NFP™ instructors walk with couples through. it. all.

The rapidly expanding fertility world simply does not. The research has expanded and the fertility industry has ballooned and yet the world as a whole is arguably further away from understanding the true depth and beauty of a couples fertility and the gift that it is.

Current tracking apps are filled with "resources" that conflict with the Church’s teachings on marriage and the gift of human sexuality. They push users towards "solutions" that are the opposite of the faithful, hopeful solutions that Marquette NFP™ seeks to offer.

Marquette NFP™ instructors deserve a tool that supports their mission and their values. They deserve something specific and powerful to help them offer the beauty of natural family planning to their couples.

Where existing tools fall short.

We already touched on the moral implications of many of the tracking apps that currently exist, but that is not the only way they fall short. Fertility Awareness apps fall into two categories: predictive or glorified spreadsheet.

Marquette NFP Pro is neither.

Marquette NFP Pro uses the same research backed algorithm that Marquette NFP™ instructors learn and teach to calculate the beginning and end of the fertile window. No AI algorithms or black boxes, just biomarkers and the official Marquette NFP™ algorithm pioneered at Marquette University. Instructors can be confident that their couples' chart will match what they teach.

It will also detect abnormalities in the phases of the menstrual cycle and unusual bleeding patterns that might be of health concern. Built by The Boland Institute for Natural Family Planning.

The Marquette NFP Pro app isn’t just an app that uses the Marquette NFP algorithm. It was built by the Boland Institute for Natural Family Planning (BINFP) at Marquette University for its instructors. Dr. Mary Schneider, PhD, FNP, MMCP, the Director of the Marquette Boland Institute for NFP, and Susana Crespo, BSN, RN, MMCP, have been advising on the project since its inception.

When the app was ready to test, our first invites went to Marquette NFP™ instructors to ensure that the app met their standards. We have worked closely with them to improve the app and make it a tool for them to use with their couples.

Designed to support instruction.

The app is intended to support Marquette NFP™ instructors as they instruct couples with easy to read and interpret charts that can be exported for further analysis.

The insights page easily breaks down key numbers for total cycles tracked, earliest peak, averages, and more. It also has graphs to help visualize discharge patterns and, for those who opt to track temperature, a comparison of actual temperature to the running average for determining ovulation spikes.

An Invitation

The Marquette NFP™ Pro app is the only app built for instructors by the BINFP. As such we recognize that it is a tool that can't reach its full potential without the continuing dedication of Marquette NFP™ instructors.

Without them we risk becoming just another fertility app. With them, the app becomes what it was meant to be: a tool that supports real instruction, real discernment, and real couples navigating real life. It doesn’t replace instruction. It can’t and it’s not meant to. Fertility is too personal, too complex, too human for that.
